This was a beautiful wedding! I arrived in the early afternoon to a house full of very happy, relaxed people whom I had yet to meet. Zeke and Erika live in Tiwan and came home to Canada to celebrate their marriage with their family in an absolutely perfect backyard wedding! So, the first time I met them was shortly before they said "I do". I had such a great time with this whole family, everyone was so comfortable and I felt very welcome! Spending an evening with this family made me remember why I love shooting weddings!

As I've explained before, the reason I love Lifestyle Sessions is because they are so relaxed and it really gives me the opportunity to get to know my clients and capture their personalities, not just smiles.

I got to see one of my absolute favourite families this week. They are so relaxed and happy together. I shot Robin and Rae's wedding last year and when Paige and Griffin were born, I had the pleasure of doing their newborn photos. Now, here we are nine months later (today is their nine month birthday...crazy how time flies!) and I got to do their family Lifestyle Session this week. Shockingly we did not have a tropical storm as we seem to have everyday..... It was a perfect way to spend an evening!

I was just thrilled to be able to see Paige and Griffin again. They have such personalities and as you will see....are just beautiful! I also had the pleasure of meeting their older brother Eric, who I kid you not, was the most well behaved little man ever. We were trying to get him to just play as he normally would and he was so focused on smiling for the camera! I just loved him.

Thank you again Robin and Rae for allowing me to capture the natural beauty in your wonderful family.

Hello my wonderful friends.

I have been feeling a little overwhelmed the past few days as I have so much to do in such a short time. I've got numerous weddings and lifestyle sessions to edit/upload/blog/pictage/album design... etc...... All before a week Friday when I leave on great adventure. Not that I"m complaining, I love to do all of the above listed things, I just have to really work on my time management skills!

I have not even had a chance to think about preparing for this trip. Steve and I are off to Northern Africa and then France for a few weeks. The only thing that is planned at this point is our flights. Steve comes from the school of thought that not having a hotel or any idea where to go will make the adventure. I tend to agree.... So that's the plan, we're each bringing one small bag and smile... I suppose I could touch up on my Arabic in the mean time..... ;)

So fear not my friends, I"m working on your images and they will all be delivered to you shortly....

Chris and Ashley Say I Do....

Well, this certainly was a great weekend. My wonderful older brother, Chris got married in Muskoka to the beautiful Ashley! The day started at Taboo golf course where I did some images of the men golfing. Wow, that was an experience. The course is Mike Weir's home course, and it was the must stunning course, I've ever seen! Then I headed over to Ashley's to capture her getting ready images...It was sunny skies until we were about to leave for the Sequin (the boat they were getting married on) and it started pouring. By the time the service happened aboard the ship an hour later, it was beautiful weather! That was certainly a blessing! After the boat cruise, all the guests headed over to the reception which was on Lake Muskoka with a breath taking view....It really was a stunning day and I could not be happier for Chris and Ashley! Welcome to the family Ashley!!!!!:)

Oh and side note friends... Steve and I have been guests at two weddings in the past two weeks, (the lovely Sarah and Ian were married a few weeks ago!) and guess who caught the bouquet twice in a row?~ That's right... me! I swear it just keeps falling at my feet ;)

Turning 8....

I had the wonderful pleasure of attending Tyson's 8th birthday party yesterday evening... Hamburgers, chips, cake and water balloons, I wouldn't miss that for the world! Not to mention an 8 year old after a day of too much excitement and sugar! I really forgot how exciting birthdays can be for a young child. He had a permanent smile on his face all evening....well until the very end when he got a tad bit upset about there being no more water balloons left.... Tyson woke up at 5:00a.m. and was ready to begin the celebrations! This morning Julie told me that he said, he "just could not believe how fast his birthday went by". He's far too funny... I just love him!!!

A few weeks ago, Lindsay asked me to come to her family's home while she was home from Alberta, for a lifestyle session. We did this session in the backyard and they included the dogs! I love when the dogs are in the family shots, it only makes sense -- They're part of the family too!! What a great family they are, everyone was so kind and umm... I swear they were all models!

Mike and Laura Say I Do.....

I met Mike and Laura about a year and a half ago when they booked their wedding. At that time it seemed so far away, well it came very quickly! I've had the pleasure of spending time with the two of them between now and then, and I am just so honoured to consider them friends. They are a wonderful couple and I just had such a great day with them and their families. I love when I arrive at a family home on the wedding day and everyone is just so welcoming!~ I am so luck to have such wonderful clients.

The whole day was a success, despite the weather. We continued as planned and just embraced the very handy black umbrellas they had purchased in the event it rained.... Turned out to be a great investment on their part!

Congratulations you two, I am so happy to have been able to spend the day with you and your wonderful families!!! Thank you

Well my friends, I was struck down with a crazy summer cold and have been out of commission for a few days. I blame this on global warming.... Remember to recycle, walk to work and turn down your AC! That's my little David Suzuki tid bit for the day...

I am starting to feel better today and am getting back to work. I've got a number of images to post from some lifestyle sessions and of course the beautiful wedding of Mike and Laura that took place on Saturday. Yes, it rained, but we all made the best of it and the day turned out perfectly!... More on that later!

I got my new sample Album that I am offering as one of my album choices. This goes back to when I was in Las Vegas for the conference and had to find the absolute best album company for my clients! I found it!!! Here are some images of this wonderful new product!!! It has a bunch of different cover choices, comes in a leather breifcase and is handmade in Italy.... For real. It's stunning!!!!

Kent met Christine. Christine met Kent. They fell in love moved in together, got engaged in Hong Kong on the way to Australia and will fly to Mexico to get married. Then they lived happliy ever after travelling all of the globe.

We had been waiting to do this shoot for a few weeks now as the weather had not been on our side. Finally with the rain clouds looming, we went ahead anyway. The weather held out until after we finished and were sitting on a roof top patio in Guelph. It really could not have been a better evening! We had such a great time with you two! Christine and Kent, you're both wonderful and I can't wait for your wedding in December!

Canada Day....

Well, I’ve spent the first part of the week getting caught up on emails and organized after coming home from the cottage. We spent the week at the cottage until Friday when I had to come back for a Saturday wedding. The week could not have been more perfect. The cottage is an absolutely stunning summer home, more than a cottage. We spent our time, sailing, swimming, canoeing, lounging, golfing and flying! Steve’s cousin stopped by in his floater plane and I got to be the co-pilot!!

Behind the cottage is a tennis court and every morning for about an hour or two everyone has to play tennis. I, in the past have actually been very athletically challenged…. However, this week I mastered my tennis game. It’s been a long time coming, as I have been REALLY bad. Not anymore!! It’s like all of my embarrassment and effort over the years just paid off! I get I now! Basically you might just see me at Wimbledon next year….

Sophia came with us and I am now worried that every time we leave the house she thinks we’re ditching her at home to go to the cottage… However, this is life. We must all work and cherish the time we are able to relax and get away. As much as I love my job, It’s get to be able to go and shoot for fun! I hope all of you had a great long weekend and were able to celebrate this wonderful country we are so blessed to live in.

Lifestyle sessions are exactly why I love my job!! I met Shelly and the kids at the park and we just let them play..... It really is that simple. These images represent two little boys who are just in love with each other. Seth laughs and claps at his older brother Ethan who can't stop trying to please him. They were both so precious and a wonderful way to finish off my week. I just feel in love with their ocean blue eyes.....

Well my wonderful friends, it’s been a long week trying to tie up lose ends and get shoots finished before my week off. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now and it feels great. I have one more this afternoon and then we’re going up to the cottage on Lake Rosseau for the week. So I’ll be out of touch. Feel free to shoot me an email and I’ll get back to you as soon as I return on July 7th. However, from now until then – It’s nothing but decking, sailing, golfing, lounging and sunning!

In light of my pending reflection time…..a few days ago as I was leaving a meeting with clients, I saw to my left, an end-to-end rainbow. I can’t recall having ever seen one in real life – I had a friend who I debated with as to if they were even possible, until the photographic evidence was produced. I finally saw one and it made my day. Yes, it was from the terrible camera phone while driving nonetheless....

Tiffany and James....... E - Session

Tiffany and James took a trip to Palm Springs Califonrina. James sweated his way through security at YYZ -- The x-ray tech winked at him, clearly noticing the ring in his carry on. They arrive in Palms Springs after a transfer in Vegas and they go to sleep the first night. He is so worried about when to propose to her that he couldn’t sleep – So he gets up at 4a.m. unable to wait any longer. Collects a breakfast in bed and wakes her up.

They told me about this note that they have had since they moved into their house a few years earlier – It reads “I love you” and they hide it back and forth on each other for the other to find around their house. He had brought the note with him to Palm Springs and that was what she saw when she opened her eyes. After James' heartfelt speech, Tiffany agreed to marry the man who had been her partner for the past ten years. James said to me that he had been waiting for ten years to do this. Umm... I teared up... it's true! I love this couple! Thank you both of having me be a part of your wedding, I am so looking forward to October!

Cottage weeekend!

Hello wonderful friends! This weekend is a very exciting one for me. Throughout the summer I have to book a few weekends off to ensure that I get a break to enjoy the summer. I spend a lot of weekends working, so to get a free cottage weekend in is a necessity. Plus...I’m secretly the best possible cottager ever. First of all, I’m very fun on a long car ride, some may say I’m tone deaf, but I’ve also been told I make up for that with spirit, which helps all the travelers in the car be entertained. The moment I get in the car, I’m crossed legged, flipping through the Ipod to commence my D.J’ing duties. At the cottage, give me a cocktail and a great book and I could sit there for days on end waiting for the next great sunset. We’re heading up tomorrow the weather is supposed to be 30 degrees and sunny. I’ll be Wifi-less so I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Kohanna May's Family!!

So, last year, about this time, I did an infant shoot with Kohanna May. Well, she's already almost a year old and is even sweeter now!! She was such a little character and such a model!! Her mom Simone emailed and asked if it was possible to do a Lifestyle session while her sister and her partner were visiting from the UK. Considering I love the British ;) we made it work and shot on Monday evening. It was great to see the family and we had a good time shooting with Oliver the Great Dane, who I must admit, I fell in love with....

Friday afternoon Michelle and Sean were married in a beautiful ceremony at the Marquis Gardens in Ancaster. The weather held out and allowed it to be a beautiful day! I arrived at Sean's family's home I had been there for about 10 minutes and I realized this was going to be a fun wedding, everyone was just having a great time and were really excited for the day's events! Michelle and Sean, you're families are wonderful, I felt so welcome and greateful to have spent the day with you, thank you! I wish you all the best in the many wonderful years to come!

Kinley -- The Warrior

This weekend I had the absolute honour to shoot a session with little Kinley. He is seven months old and gone through more than most of us would in a lifetime. He certainly is a brave little man and I am so thankful I had the opportunity to spend some time with this beautiful family. Kinley was diagnosed with Leukemia several days after birth and was recently in remission only to be fighting it again. Twice in seven months, he has gone through Chemo Therapy and is now waiting to ensure that it worked for a second time.

This family is stronger than I could have ever imagined. The beads in the images, Kinley has collected from each and every procedure that he has been through. I was shocked at the number of beads.... He certainly is the Warrior the beads say he is. Such a sweet precious little boy. Kinley's mother said to me that she is so thankful for the smallest things, such as when he latches on to one of their fingers. We must all remember that life is full of tiny moments that we carry with us always.

As Kinley can not leave his room at the Hospital right now, the images were all shot in there. I look forward to another session with Kinley and his family when he is healthy and enjoying life as he should be --

Last week I spent the day in Niagara with some models and a whole slue of photographers who get together to share knowledge, laughs and just great times. The weather could not have been any better! It is so inspiring to be around others who share the same passion that you do. I imagine that it is the same for anyone when you have such a strong interest in something, it's very refreshing to be around others that share your passion.

I also had the pleasure of spending some time with this little guy this weekend.... Mitchell is four weeks old and so sweet! His parents drove in my Delhi for the session and he slept the whole way here! I was impressed. He was very good with getting his pictures taken as well -- Sure there were a few tears, but overall -- He was just perfect!

The rain yesterday afternoon cleared just in time for Sarah's session for her new headshots, the lighting could not have been more perfect. I always call it movie lighting when it's like that. It's just too perfect to be real....

Random Thursday-ness... Thought I would try to keep up with some random thoughts once a week or so.

Just about every afternoon, Sophia and I go for a good long hike around the trails at the Rock Chapel Dog Park. It's great exercise for both of us and Sophia gets to hang out with all of her dog friends. It's not technically a leash-free park, but I've seen uncountable amounts of dogs there and not one has ever had a leash.... Literally at any point in the day there are 10 dogs galavanting around the trails! It's really the perfect place to walk if you're ever looking for a great place... Just a little FYI.

I know the movie Juno has been out for a while, so you have all probably already seen it, however, I just have to point out the sound track. It's fantastic. I could not help but Itunes it the moment the movie was over. In my opinion, the soundtrack is one of the most important aspects of a movie, and let me tell you, this one is great -- If you don't have it, you need to just go and buy it right now.

Books...currently I'm flipping between Gary Fong's Autobiography, which I happen to pick up a pre-release signed copy of when I was at WPPI. He's an absolute LEGEND in the Photography Industry, however this book is an fantastic read for anyone from all walks of life.... Seriously, I highly recommend it. It's called Snaps and not released yet... as soon as it is, you need to get one!! One of the most interesting people I've ever met. And obviously, like everyone else: A New Earth. I'm undecided about it just yet... I'll keep you posted!

Well, I've been MIA on the blog for a little while and I apologize! I was in New Mexico last week visiting Steve's wonderful family that live there. We had such a fantastic time, it was seriously SO great to be in the sun even if only for a short while. This has been a long winter and the sun is very welcomed in my life!!

Back to New Mexico, the last time we went down we ended up ditching the last leg of the flight to drive through Colorado from Denver, which was just one of the best days ever. It ended with the car in neutral coasting through the mountains as the rental car ran out of gas, but that's a long story... This time we stuck with the flight plan and spent a great deal more time in NM, which was worth it! There was lots of visiting with family, especially Granny, who is a wonderful, sweet 90 year old! She's pretty feisty for being that age. There was also a great round of golf and lots of good times!

I'm back from the World Portrait Photographers International conference in Vegas and I am so inspired I don't know where to start. It was a fantastic time. I was very sick with a horrible sore throat and a cold for the first three days, but I had to persevere. The wealth of knowledge and sheer volume of information was something unparalleled.

I went to three seminars a day and found time to do a little exploring. I'll write a long post later with some of the wonderful information I've brought home with me. Some highlights... meeting Gary Fong; Jesh De Roxl; Mike Colon; Jessica Clare; Becker; Dennis Reggie. These are some of the worlds best photographers and I got to meet them and hear them speak. The whole thing was just so enlightening!!

Well, as things may be, I have been quite sick for the past few days and my throat does not seem to be getting much better. I've loaded up with Cold Defence and Honey and am going to keep hoping to be on the mend before I fly out in the morning. If not, I've just got to suck it up. I'm off to the World Portrait Photographers International in Las Vegas in the morning. So, I'll be out of the office until next Thursday and will not be checking voicemail. However, I of course will have my macbook, so feel free to email if you need anything.

On a side note, remember that Winter Gala that I shot in January, well there was just an article about it in the Flamborough Review, along with one of my images. They raised over $6000.00 for the McMaster Children's Charity!

This morning Steve and a few of his friends went on a golf trip to South Carolina for the weekend. I don't think I've ever seen him quite so excited. When we go anywhere he packs in about 30 seconds. I always pack the night before and have lists and everything is all laid out for departure. Whereas he, on occasion, packed at 4 in the morning before we leave the house for a flight at 5:00. However, last night, he was laying out his outfits, making sure he had absolutely everything he could need and laid out his 'flying blazer' which is a somewhat of a joke, except for the fact that when we fly anywhere, he always wears a casual blazer. It's cute really. I'll be in my lululemons and he's in a blazer.... It was really nice to see him so excited. I think it's partially to do with the golfing aspect. He just LOVES it! I've always been surrounded by golfers -- My older brother is a professional golfer, my younger brother is an amazing golfer, all my cousins golf, most of my friends golf. Whereas I on the other hand, try. It's totally random whether I'm decent or not. There has been the occasional golf game where my fellow golfers are surprised at my skill and think that it must be a genetic reason that we're all great golfers. Other times, I'll give up after the 9th stoke and move onto the next hole, vowing I'll never golf again.

I much prefer shopping trips... The cost can be about the same as a round of golf with a cart, and it just lasts so much longer, you can wear those jeans all year long and if you're taking a cart, the mall really is more exercise right?!

So, Sarah and I have planned a shopping trip in light of the golf trip and we're off to America!! Look out shoppers, when I stay focused and keep the right mind set, my shopping game is unstoppable.

I should have likely done this in say January with it being the New Year and all, but I didn't and I'm doing it now which is all that matters!

Below is a slideshow of some of my favourite images from 2007 weddings.

While I was making the show I started to get so excited for the upcoming wedding season!! I just can not wait to shoot all of my wonderful brides and grooms this year. I really am very blessed to work with some amazing clients! I'm getting so excited!!! If I had not mentioned that already.....:) This just makes me want to go out and shoot right now... Luckily I have a wedding to shoot tomorrow, so that'll have to do!

Great New I~D~E~A~!!!

Okay, so I have this great vision, however I am lacking a couple.

The idea is this... Since the Proposal is what spurs all of the wedding planning... without the proposal, what do we have?! A ring sitting on a shelf in a jewelry store and a couple of crazy kids! Okay, so you're getting the idea, you need the Proposal to get the wedding going....

I really want to get people into the new trend of documenting the Proposal. Wouldn't you just love to have me lurking in the park or any other fantastic place you may choose to engage the woman or man of your dreams?! Really, think about it -- The bride to be won't have any clue that I'm there shooting the whole thing. So after the big question and the "YES~!!" she will have a document of that moment to keep forever. I've heard many people say that they were too exiting and don't really even remember their proposal. So, after it's all said and done, and the wedding planning is started, wouldn't it be fantastic to have the proposal documented?!

So, the first person to email me with the subject line "YES!" will receive my services for free. You can enlighten me to the plan that you have all set up and we'll figure out where I'll shoot from. I'll document the whole thing and give you the equivalent of a lifestyle session.

Wouldn't this just be such a wonderful surprise for your bride to be? I feel it will and I have a good feeling it'll get you some solid points, on top of that great diamond you just bought!

Winter Gala

This past Friday in the midst of the crazy snow storm that we had around here, nearly 300 people braved the cold and very slippery roads to attend the McMaster's Children's Hospital Gala. It was a fantastic turn out and a beautifully coordinated event. Really, it was such a huge success! I was so happy to be able to be a part of it.

In the event that anyone is looking for event planners... no pun intended.... Laura Bernstein and Stacey Hardy were wonderful! I highly recommend them!

I couldn't stay until the end, so I'm not sure who ended up with the final bid in the Silent Auction for the Lifestyle Session, but I look forward to an email or phone call from the lucky bidder!

Bit of a random post, but guess what finally came in today!!!?? My new Macbook Pro!! I have been working from only my IMac desktop for a while now and needed the portability of a laptop. Today was the day!! I plan to expand a few services and be offering slideshow for weddings. They will be of the days images played during the wedding cocktail receptions. All the getting ready; guests arriving; the ceremony; and the posts can be played for the guests at the receptions. So all of you 2008 brides, better get excited!

Well, the site has been partially updated. All the copy, not the portfolio just yet... it's coming soon though!

I have some other very exciting news! I've booked my flights and hotel in Vegas for the biggest photography conference in the world. Literally! It's the World Portrait Photographers International ("WPPI") which I am a member of. Every year there is a conference in Las Vegas and I'm going to be there! Not only are there the world's best portrait/wedding photographers going to there, but, they will be teaching!! I'm so excited about this!

The first three days will be lectures and the last day is a trade show. I plan to bring home the best album and print ideas out there, in addition to new shooting and post production techniques taught by the best of the best. I'm very excited to announce some wonderful news.... My brother, Chris got engaged over the weekend! Chris and Ashley are awesome and their wedding will be just fantastic! Can't wait to shoot this one! It's going to be in Muskoka this August and is sure to be a great time! Congratulations you two!!!

Baby Shower

In December Lindsay (I do love Lindsay's!) contacted me to shoot a Babyshower (as a surprise) that she was throwing for the new mother. It was something different and very special for the new mother as often baby showers go undocumented. Lindsay hosted the shower and did a fantastic job! There was a tonne of food and lots of fun! The mother and new baby Maddison were just too sweet.

Okay, so I'm back from a short blog writing hiatus. With one NYR's out the window of blogging daily, I fell its time to adjust that one to blogging more frequently :)!

The past few weeks have been very busy with research and planning for 2008. Its already teed up to be a great year, with some very exciting Weddings, Lifestyles and Travel to come. July 19th 2008, seems to be a very busy day for weddings. I am booked that day with Mike and Laura from Burlington. They booked the date nearly 18 months ago and I can recall them telling me that people had thought they were nuts for planning so far in advance. However, it's worked out well for them, as I have had to turn away three clients who wanted to book me for that date. So, they certainly were not nuts to book that far in advance!

Not to say that there are not dates still open for those planning with tighter time lines, so shoot me an email if you have an upcoming wedding, I'd love to meet with you to discuss your options!

I've also been working with Ross from Flosites to get a new Blog up and running in the coming months. The idea is to have a very cool new blog, as well as a better way to facilitate the "comments". I feel that this criteria will be met with flying colours and can not wait for it to be up and running. Further, my website is going to be update, hopefully within the week, which I am also very much looking forward. So, keep checking back for all the new changes!

Oh, and we'll I'm here, I have to mention that this week was MacWorld. Which is always exciting. Has anyone seen the New Macbook Air. Very cool, I think I'll stick to the Macbook Pro, but Mac really are innovators! I can not wait to get the Time Capsal. With so many images I have to back up constantly and this will be a time saver for sure!

Winter Gala for Charity!

Phew!!! My second day and I almost forgot to post!! I can't ruin my NYR's on my second day, that's horrible!

Luckily, I have something to make up for it....I was asked to participate in a Charity!! That's one of my resolutions!! Perfect! Well, and of course, I'll get to be charitable in addition to meeting one of my NYR's!

So, to start I am donating a portrait session for the silent auction. In addition to that, I will be there documenting the event for them!

It's a Winter Gala for the McMaster University Medical Center's Children' Charity. There are still tickets available if you are interested in attending it's on February 1, 2008 --(There will be at least one great auction item :) )

It's going to be a fantastic event with a four course meal, silent auction, live bands and so much more, you really should be attending!! Leave me a comment if you're interested in getting tickets, and I'll sort you out! They are only $40.00 each which is SO inexpensive, especially considering the children you'll be helping!

I Hope the Best of Last Year is the Worst of the Next!

I am back home now and slowly getting back to the swing of things. Wow. That Holidays are exhausting! I don't know if I can even consider eating another sweet until.... At least Monday :) I can understand why there is such a long haul between Holidays with Christmas and Easter, you really do need the break after the festivities of Christmas.

Well, lets see, Quebec was fantastic! I just love Mount St. Anne, it's awesome for snowboarding and just the coziest little village! I highly recommend it. Turns out it was the 400th Anniversary of Quebec City so there was a Huge celebration right downtown. We braved the freezing cold I believe it was -16 w/o the windchill and climbed atop the citadel a wall with some 20 000 other people to watch the outdoor show and the fireworks. It was something to say the least! The fireworks we the best I have ever seen, honestly, it was insane!

We ended up driving home in a bit of a blizzard and stopped counting the cars in the ditch off the 401 when we reached 35 cars. I closed my eyes and begged that we pull over. Needless to say, I think I'll be flying next year!

We're home safely and I only left my purse behind once, which for me, is pretty good. For those who know me, they know I have a small issue with leaving that little guy all over the place. I am starting to think that I may do it subconceiously to be reminded of the good people in the world! I left my purse in a restruant in St. Anne De Beaupre... and didn't realize until we were checking into our hotel in Quebec City, the following day that I didn't have it. So we had to get back into the car and drive back to St. Anne. Small source of contention, I must say. We got there and in a mix of broken French and English, the server found it in the Manger's office. I wanted to hug her. In it, I had cash as well as my Ipod (which I never leave home without) and a number of gift cards from Christmas, not to mention all of my Identification, etcetera. I was just so happy that they had it -- It really is a horrible feeling to lose your wallet. I would image it is so much worse not to get it back, however, that has yet to happen to me. I seem to have the best of luck in this regard. The good people of the world always seem to find it and keep it safe for me.

Overall the whole trip was a great start to the New Year. I have so many projects and goals for the coming year with regard to my business, however they are ever evolving. So, I thought I would pose my personal New Years Resolution here so I can be held accontable.... I'll keep you updated on my progress:

1. Double check when leaving everywhere that I have my purse.

2. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. Water really is the fluid of life.

3. Stop paying for an unused gym membership.... Physical fitness is key to wellbeing and I need to utlizie the gym, rather than just paying for it.

4. Become involved in a Charity. This is a good goal for everyone really, there are so many people that need assistance in the world.

5. And finally, blog everyday... really this is quite difficult, but I am gonna try!! Those all seem like fairly common resolutions...Perhaps I'll add to the list as the year progresses! I hope everyone had a fantastic Holiday season and a wonderful 2008!

Another successful Christmas has passed! I just LOVE this time of year because I'm blessed with amazing family and friends, all of whom I spend excessive amounts of time with laughing, eating, and enjoying life.

I've pretty much spent the last few days consuming far too much, exchanging gifts, and simply loving the holidays…you know, all the things that make my heart explode with gratitude.

I think for next few days all I can eat is salad.... sadly I have a fridge full of wonderful leftovers!!! Perhaps the salad eating will need to start in the New Year!! :)

Due Date.....

Well, today was my final due date for the next two weeks. It has been a very long December and I finally feel all caught up!!! I'm sure most of you know the feeling of accomplishment and relief to have met your deadlines and move on to the next project. It feels GREAT!!! Now, I have to start Christmas Shopping.... errrr... Not looking forward to that, but that's not until tomorrow! Secretly, I sort of like leaving it until the last minute, everyone is so festive! The stores and the malls have that warm Christmas feeling to them. Just makes you want to get a hot chocolate and sit and people watch... I will be unable to do that considering I have a lot of shopping to do in two days, but nonetheless, I'll get to enjoy that feeling! Any present suggestions are much appreciated....

I'm off for the next two weeks and have some very exciting things coming up. First up is of course: the shopping; three parties on Christmas Eve; two breakfasts and two dinners on Christmas day; another on Boxing day and then it's off to Mount Saint Anne for some snowboarding; and Quebec City for New Years. I'll be ringing in the New Year for the second time in a row in Quebec City and can not wait to be standing at the Ice Bar outside in Old Town sipping Bailey's and Coffee. I'll be posting randomly with updates over the holidays.

The New Year starts in full swing on the first weekend of January with several shoots. This weekend as a little break from the December Craziness.... Steve, myself and a group of friends went to NOTL and stayed at The Stable Bed and Breakfast, which was of course awesome! A bride from the summer, Jenny (of Jenny and Adam ) owns the B&B and offered it to us for the weekend as she and Adam were away. The B&B was right downtown and I highly recommend it to anyone that feels so inclined to enjoy all that NOTL has to offer... There were 11 of us in total and we liked (therefore purchased) a lot of the wine we tasted! All of the sudden, we have the beginning of a wine collection. It was a great weekend and much needed break!

Paige and Griffin

A few months ago, I shot Robin and Rae-Anne's beautiful wedding at the Ancaster Old Mill. Last week I went to their home for an infant session with their two beautiful newborn twins!! These two babies were so animated. They were very tiny and just so expressive. Often babies, are not too keen to have their portraits taken, however, Paige is clearly going to be a model, she seemed to love the camera. Griffin on the other hand, wasn't quite as happy with me as his sister... He just wanted to be held by either his mom or dad. I am so looking forward to watching these two grow!

Congratulations Robin and Rae-Anne, you're very obviously going to make wonderful parents~!

Better Late Than Never

I realized that I did not post any images from the brief afternoon I spent in Dallas Texas... Sorry about that! We had such a great afternoon on the Sunday following the wedding. Steve and I went downtown Dallas to the Sixth Floor Museum and became what some might call slightly obsessed with John and Jackie... We have in the past been known to become a little obsessed with political leaders... Last year, about this time actually, we were all over Pierre Elliott Trudeau. Seriously, it was a lot -- to the point where we got matching PET t-shirts for Christmas...The good news is that for Trivia night, we've always got all the answers in this regard!

Well, back to Dallas, it really was a great experience to see Downtown Dallas. After we went downtown we went back to the Grapevine and had lunch with bride and the rest of her fantastic family ;) We had real life Texas Ribs on a Patio! Those who know me, know that I have a grand appreciate for Patio Weather, never mind Ribs! It doesn't get much better than that.

These photos were taken just over a week ago which was the very day that Rob, Laura and Taylor were going to Toronto to get on a plane to the Dominican Republic for their wedding. Let me tell you -- It was chilly and they were still all smiles! I couldn't believe that it was the day there were leaving and they were so organized that they had time for a photo shoot. I was very impressed, to say the least.

Taylor was just perfect for the shoot, even in the cold when we put her in the leaves... she was still happy... but when we tried to get the classic "LV" bottom half of the body shot... Taylor was not too impressed... I had to include the image in the blog posting, since its just too cute.

Congratulations on your wedding Laura and Rob, you're going to have a wonderful life together!!

So to start... this is our sweet little Sophia.... it's her 5 month birthday tomorrow and we were just discussing how it feels like she's been with us forever. Little Sophia has taken over our lives (in the best way possible!) and she's just the most well behaved, sweetest, tiniest, cutest little non-sheder in the world! We were truly blessed to have a shedding-free Chocolate Lab... Not a single hair to date... knock on wood...

A few weeks ago I shot a lifestyle session for Rob and Sherie and their three children. We met at their home on a Sunday morning. I was just coming down with a cold (that has yet to go away!) and was not feeling very well on my drive to their home. After I was there for a few minutes, I felt so much better. They were all so happy and pleasant to be around - Especially for a Sunday morning! Again, it was not hot out and those boys warmed themselves up by running around and burning off what appears to be endless energy!

A few weeks ago, when the weather was still oddly warm, I did a lifestyle session for Lori, Mike and Kennedy. I used to work with Lori and had not seen her in several years. It was awesome to catch up with her and meet the rest of her precious familly! Kennedy did not stop running for most of the shoot! She had so much energy and is such a happy little girl. Again, I am very behind on my postings... about 6 postings behind to be exact...They are coming! I promise. It's just been crazy busy around here....Which I am going to rectify this week!! Okay, up first......was a wedding that I shot in Dallas Texas, I had never met Sarah or David prior to the wedding day and they were just so great to work with. Sarah was so calm the whole time!! I could not believe it! We had such an amazing time in Dallas and this wedding was just beautiful. Everyone in attendance at the wedding was just so enjoyable to be around -- the love these two share was so apparent in all of their family and friends at the wedding. Okay, so there are some pretty precious images to follow this post. Heather had contacted me a short while ago to do some photos of her family. She had found my site from the Cactus Festival here in Dundas. We did the photos at their home a couple of weeks ago. This child was the smiliest, little, tiniest, cutest thing in the world! Heather and John must be the most exciting parents around, because let me tell you, she was such a happy baby! I had a great time with this family and hope they are enjoying every minute of their sweet little girl!

A few weeks ago I met up with Amanda and Ryan for a portrait session. We met in the early evening and the light was fantastic! This was the first time that I had met Amanda and Ryan and we clicked right away. They were both really fun to work with. At first I think they were a little weirded out as my car alarm would not turn off.... how embarrassing! However, they forgave the little outburst I had towards the Jetta and we went for a walk to get some shots. These two were really sweet with each other and clearly spend alot of their relationship laughing! They were just both really fun all around.

Now, I'm very behind on my posting at this point.... I apologize to all those waiting for their posts! They are coming within the next few days! Last month I had the absolute pleasure of doing a family portrait session with Jenny, Randy, Josh, Cassi and some of their relatives! We did this shoot very early on a Sunday morning. The weather was beautiful and we went for a great walk around Webster's Falls. They all wore Roots T-Shits and were so willing to do whatever was asked of them. They were awesome to work with. Wow! What a month. This past month I have had the opportunity to share in some phenomenal weddings!!! Everyone has just been so relaxed and welcoming-!! I can not say enough about my clients this year! This past weekend was no exception. Dan and Amanda were married on Saturday at the beautful Knollwood Golf Course. I had never been there before, and it was gorgeous-!! They have turned an old barn into a stunning club house with so much character. The weather was not co-operating as it was a crazy rain storm in the morning. Fortunately by the time the ceremony started, the sky had parted and it was blue skies! Just following the ceremony there were some thunder clouds rolling in again -- It held off with only a few minor sun showers in the afternoon. Dan and Amanda were really great sports about the rain -- Didn't seem to phase them at all! These two really are a great couple! I hope you two enjoy every minute of your trip! You really deserve it!!!

Well, last weekend I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Jenny and Adam's wedding in Rockton. It was a PERFECT day!! Not only could the weather not have been better, but the entire day was really filled with love. The entire event took place at Jenny's mother's farm where Jenny grew up. The setting could not have been more beautiful. In addition, the wedding was a combination of an entire community's efforts. Everyone helped with each aspect of the wedding from the flowers, to the food, to the set up to the service. It was such a wonderful thing to witness everyone coming together to share in Jenny and Adam's love. This was by far one of my favourite weddings to attend. Last Saturday was Kris and Blake's wedding in Rockton and it was fantastic! Everyone was so great to work with and Kris and Blake were totally up for any of my suggestions. Everything goes so much smoother when the couple trust you and are so comfortable. In addition their four children were all so co-operative and fun to work with. Just got back from a long day of shooting Nic and Megan's wedding. What a fantastic day - Nic and Meghan were so calm and collected all day. In late August I had the pleasure of shooting Robin and Rayanne's weddings at the Ancaster Old Mill. Rayanne is carrying twins and looked nothing short of stunning! I had not had the opportunity to meet with them prior to the wedding so this was our first meeting. Both of them were just lovely people and I had enjoyed the entire evening so much. This weekend was Victoria and Jason's wedding -- The wedding got started a bit late due to a highway closure, but once things got started, the wedding was perfect. The cermony was beautiful and the bride and goom could not have been kinder! I had never worked with either of them before and had a fantastic time. I came away from the wedding with my assistant and we just could not say enough about how accomadating and friendly the wedding party was. We really had a great day.

Rebecca and Kaia came for some infant shoots, and to say the least, Kaia was not too pleased to be having her photos taken. Nonetheless, Rebecca was such a calm and relaxing mom, she had numerous tricks to get Kaia to smile!

Hello and Welcome to the Blog...

I thought this would be a good way to keep everyone update on the exciting world of photography that seems to encompass me these days.

As the summer has come to an end the fall wedding season is coming in full force. It has been a wonderful summer and I fell very prepared for the upcoming busy schedule.
